0.00001 food miles. We are proud to be a little bit different. Green Cow menus showcase the food that is produced and foraged from the land around us. Throughout the seasons, the chefs forage for wild garlic, hedgerow berries, damsons, plums, apples, pears, puff balls, elderflower and more...

Meet the team: Christina

We're excited to introduce our restaurant manager.

This week, we’ve spoken to Christina, our Restaurant Manager at Green Cow Kitchens, discussing her background and what her role entails.

What were you doing before you decided to join Crumplebury/GCK?

Most recently, I’ve been assisting my fiancé who owns a mobile bar company called Bars on the Run, which we have been managing together. I’ve also been doing other freelance work in the food and beverage industry.

I’ve been in the trade since I was 15, when I started working in my first job as a hostess in my friend’s parents’ Italian restaurant in Orange County, California – where I grew up. Since I moved to Worcester 9 years ago, I’ve worked in and managed various independent bars and restaurants in the area.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I’m unbelievably excited to be a part of everything that’s developing around GCK and Crumplebury. Joe and Keeley’s vision for everything new that’s developing whilst still trying to maintain the specialness that GCK holds to their family, staff and customers is really inspiring. I’m excited to see how everything changes in the next 13 weeks, and just being a part of the process will be really rewarding!

How will your previous role or experience help in your new role?

I’ve been working and managing restaurants for years, but I don’t want to change the nature of what GCK has always been. My previous years of working in different roles and venues will allow me to contribute something unique to the innate charm that GCK already exudes.

Any interesting projects that you know you will be working on?

Crumplebury! Having the ability to be on the ground and in the trenches for this last push before the event venue gets to open its doors is going to be so exciting. My job role on paper is GCK restaurant manager, and it will have my dedication – but I’m making myself available for any extra projects Joe and Keeley need help with in the coming weeks.

Is there anything you’re looking to implement in your new role?

The GCK team has done an amazing job over the last seven years – have you seen the TripAdvisor reviews?! They’re incredible! I have no interest in reinventing the wheel. I’m just here to make the ship sail a little smoother behind the scenes with some new systems and a single point of contact. The food and service will still offer the incredible experience everyone has come to know and love.

Do you have any interesting hobbies or facts about yourself?

I’m California born and raised and went to university in Chicago. I took a wrong (or right?) turn somewhere along the way and ended up in the Worcestershire countryside, where I’ve put down my roots! My son is nearly 4 and already pours a perfect pint and we’ve recently acquired a new addition, Mo, our 10-week-old cockapoo puppy. I’m a budding gardener and planning to do all my own flowers for my wedding in August next year with the guidance of my mother-in-law. Along with the rest of the organisation, we’re doing a total DIY wedding! Between all of that and my awesome new job at GCK, my time is pretty much accounted for!

We can’t wait for the grand opening of Crumplebury. To find out more about our venue, please click here.
