Spring is always a time of new beginnings at Crumplebury, when the first of our lambs make their appearance in the rich, green pastures, the abundance of bird life we are lucky enough to nurture here begin to build their nests for the season ahead, and the first, hopeful shoots of the snowdrops appear at the edges of the woods.

Across the estate, it’s a time for energy and renewal, for rejuvenation, for planning.

And, just as our foresters eagerly spot the new-season shoots of our ancient oaks and pines, and Farmer Tim keeps a watchful eye over his burgeoning flock, we too are embracing growth of a different kind.

We’ve joined forces with Artemis, the UK’s biggest exclusive use wedding and events venue group – a long-term lease agreement which will continue to build on our success.

From now on, Artemis will be running the day-to-day operations here, bringing their vast knowledge of the weddings and events industry to Crumplebury – keeping all the wonderful things you love about our incredible venue, investing in the property and supporting our team, many of whom have already transferred to the new business.

Visit us, and you won’t notice much different.

In spring, carpets of bluebells will still lead you to our huge oak doors, past fields of lambs and the adorable new calves on the farm. In summer the wildflower meadow will still be abuzz with bees and butterflies, beautiful blooms softening the lines of our iconic buildings, the hum of the tractors cutting lush meadow hay to feed our animals over winter.

Amid the mists of autumn, you’ll still find all of nature’s bounty on our tables, from wild mushrooms to hedgerow treasures, ripe, rosy orchard fruits and game from the estate. And our winter landscape will be just the same – fabulously frosty mornings, silvery skies and our magnificent old cedar tree presiding regally over things, just as it’s done for centuries.

Behind the scenes, the Artemis team and all the familiar faces here will be working tirelessly to preserve the magic of Crumplebury, all the while bringing a fresh new energy to the venue and your experience here. Delivering exceptional, seasonal food. Nurturing the landscape. Curating incredible guest experiences to surprise and delight, whether you’re celebrating a spectacular wedding or you’re hosting the party of all parties.

“I have had an extremely positive experience dealing with the team at Artemis to kick-start our new commercial partnership… The transition has been dealt with efficiently and positively. We look forward to seeing our property soar to new heights as the marketing and operational strength of Artemis beds in… The entire team have been a pleasure to deal with: friendly, reasonable and professional.”

– JOE EVANS, OWNER OF CRUMPLEBURY, LEASED TO ARTEMIS

And while, for a little while at least, we’ll be focusing less on the foodie events we’ve so famously hosted over the years, the beating heart of Crumplebury remains – amazing weddings and unforgettable events to linger long in the memory. After all, extraordinary is in our DNA.

High standards of corporate and social responsibility

For 25 years, Artemis has been helping venues like ours thrive long into the future – investing in buildings, defining the brand, shouting from the rooftops about everything that’s great about a venue and embracing its values. Like us, they have enormously high standards of corporate and social responsibility. It’s one of the first things we loved about them.

The group’s track record is exemplary, and the team – all 500 of them, headquartered in north Wales – has decades of experience leasing exclusive, luxury wedding venues like ours right across the country.

At the helm is CEO Angus Hastie, an Old Vigornian and local lad – his heart, most definitely, is in the shire. His mum Diana set up the original wedding venue company in the 90s, so it made perfect sense that Curradine Barns, our near neighbour in Shrawley, would become one of its first properties. Since Artemis acquired it in 2012, it’s blossomed into one of Worcestershire’s best-loved and most successful wedding venues.

We’re in good company

Most recently, Artemis has acquired the leasehold on Combermere Abbey in Cheshire. Much like us, theirs is a huge and historic family-owned estate – 1,000 years of awe-inspiring architecture, rolling parkland, old English woodland and enchanting waters. Sound familiar? We thought so, too. We’re in good company.

So when you host your event, or your wedding with us, you’re in perfect hands. Say ‘I do’ to the same personal service and attention to detail – the Crumplebury way, if you will.

The same warm welcome from our friendly team and ‘absolutely no problem, of course we can’ attitude we’ve always had – for the sky’s the limit here, and no dream is too big.

The same breathtakingly modern buildings, built and run so as to tread as lightly on the planet as we possibly can. The same rolling Herefordshire hills and valleys, the same oak trees which have marched across this landscape for a century or more. For this is our home, and we cherish it – and we know you do too.

And then there are the exceptional wedding breakfast and exclusive event menus, curated just for you, delivered with the warmth and care of a family-run service. Moments you’ll never forget, celebrations to treasure for years to come.

We’re so excited to be partnering with Artemis, and we know there’s a brilliant future ahead. Come and see us – we can’t wait to meet you.
